Under 11 Girls - Although it’s early in the season, it’s a case of so far so good for the girls, as they begin their league campaign for 2018/19. They kicked off with a hard fought 2 - 0 win over Saint Augustine’s. Despite dominating, the girls had to be patient, before being rewarded with two late goals from Alesha Khurrum and Aruba Ahmed. Last week, they followed that up with another 2 - 0 victory, this time against Salterhebble. This was another game of total Parkinson Lane dominance, with the girls keeping their cool in spite of some provocation by the opposition. This week, the girls entertain Holy Trinity and on Wednesday 10th April, we play another home game, this time against a very tough Beech Hill team. As with all our teams, the girls really thrive on a big crowd, so we would really welcome as much support as we can get. The aim will be to qualify for the top division when the league splits after Easter, and although a second place finish looks unlikely this season, the girls will be going all out to emulate the success that we have enjoyed at girls level in recent seasons. As our girls have proved season after season, football is not just a man’s game.
Under 9s Boys - The under 9s Boys played their first league fixture of the season on 13/03/19, against St Augustine’s and won 5 - 1. They gave a very professional and convincing performance, by dominating midfield and taking their chances, when they presented themselves. The under 9’s Manager Mr Khangura, was very happy that the team went on the attack and pressed the opposition from the first minuet to the last. Other opposition awaits, but for now a good start.
Goals scored: Raid (2), Adam (1) and Zakeriya (2).
Our football training is on Monday 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Calderdale Collage.
