What are the routes into teaching offered by Calderdale TSA?

There are two types of training places:

The School Direct Training Programme – this route is open to all graduates and funded by tuition fees paid by the trainee who may receive a bursary from the Department for Education.

The fees for this route are £9250.  You may be eligible for a tax free bursary to support your training.  Full details regarding bursaries will be posted as soon as the information is published by the DFE.

In addition you could also apply for a student loan to support your payments through student finance:

The School Direct Training Programme (salaried) – this route is an employment-based route for high quality graduates with three or more years’ career experience.  You will be paid a salary by the school in which you train. This salary will be in line with the unqualified teacher pay ranges. You will not need to pay fees to cover the cost of your qualified teacher status (QTS) award. You will not be eligible for a training bursary.
