INTENT (How we have planned our RE Curriculum)

Parkinson Lane offers a rich and vibrant RE curriculum. We explore the important role that religions and worldviews play in all human life. It is our intent to equip our children to find a positive place in society as global citizens who are respectful and knowledgeable about diverse beliefs and ways of life. This will help them to overcome misunderstanding, stereotyping and division, and promote equity for all. We want to prepare them so that they can respond with empathy and critical thinking to the challenges facing the world, and make informed decisions about meaning and purpose. We offer a place where difficult or ‘risky’ questions can be tackled within a safe but challenging context and children have the knowledge and skills to develop their own opinions and ideas so as to live a good life.
